Repurposed Drawers as Art Displays

Read this over at Apartment Therapy and just had to pass it on.

Changing out the drawer pulls can add an interesting detail that can play up the "wow factor" of repurposed drawers on your wall.

Paint the inside of the drawer a bold color or leave the raw wood for a more organic feel.

Rotate your vintage finds, display a vase of full of flowers or showcase your collection of vintage cameras--the options are endless.

Living in Echo Park, we see discarded dressers and desks all the time. If you're not lucky enough to happen upon a discarded drawer, hit up your local thrift store or flea market for these inexpensive finds.

Play around with alternating drawer sizes. A long rectangular drawer would be really neat in a smaller space (acting as a shelf to store your items). Or create a wall of repurposed drawers--just make it your own!

And not that we think displaying empty frames has gone out of style--but displaying repurposed drawers might be the new trend popping up in homes.

A couple of great photos i found perusing the ol' web on my iPhone this weekend...

The second one was also blatantly lifted from Emily Henderson's blog The Brass Petal, whom by the by happens to be one of the contestants on this season's Design Star.
